From Seeds of Change to Forests of Hope

Need for Mokkoji

The world doesn't just need better ideas. It needs more people willing to act on them.

Every day, communities across our region face division, uncertainty, conflict, loneliness, and growing mistrust. Though these challenges differ from place to place, they often leave people asking the same question: "What difference can one person really make?"

IofC Korea, with the support of the Asia Pacific Coordination Group, invites all of us to ask a different question: "What could happen if people who care came together to listen, learn, encourage one another, and take responsibility for the change they can make?"

Every forest begins
with a seed

What is Asia Pacific Mokkoji?

Asia Pacific Mokkoji isn't about finding all the answers, listening to speeches, or quick learning. It is about creating the space to ask better questions. Inspired by the traditional Korean word Mokkoji (모꼬지), which means "a gathering of people," it invites people to slow down. To listen. To learn from one another. To build genuine friendships across cultures and generations.

Over six days in Seoul, people from across the Asia Pacific will come together to reflect, share honestly, challenge one another, and explore how personal change can lead to wider social transformation. Because when people change, families change, communities change, and sometimes, even nations change.

Small acts of personal change, nurtured within a supportive community, can grow into forests of hope.

Experience Growth. Celebrate Diversity.

Rooted in the core practices of IofC, at Asia Pacific Mokkoji creates intentional spaces where participants will spend time in silence, listening to the still, small voice within and identifying their areas for growth. They will also have the opportunity to connect with people from across the region, hear and learn from their stories, and celebrate the diversity our region offers. Most importantly, they will be encouraged to commit to the actions they feel called to take.

What Might Emerge

Whether you lead an organisation, teach in a classroom, serve your community, run a business, or are simply searching for ways to contribute more meaningfully, Mokkoji offers an opportunity to pause, think deeply, and grow alongside others.

Every forest begins with a single seed. Will you be part of growing forests of hope across the Asia Pacific?
